High-performance numerical simulation applied to aircraft design and optimization

Abstract

In order to yield a considerable reduction on the airplane project cycle the present effort is divided into the following parts:1.Mathematical models to calculate the structural weight of the airplane, the polar drag curve, the stability derivatives, engine power and loads acting on the airplane in its operational envelope. 2.Computer codes to estimate the polar drag curve, structural weight and flutter 3.Evaluation of a wide range of optimization algorithms4.parametric geometry manipulator (AU)
