The cardiac rehabilitation in patients undergoing Endomyocardial Fibrosis in heart failure class II and III

Abstract

Endomyocardial Fibrosis (EMF) is a cardiomyopathy restrictive that in period of training moderated or advanced presents functional classifications II and III of the New York Heart Association equivalent to the cardiac deficiency (IC), was first described by Davies in the Uganda in 1948, is of bigger incidence in tropical regions and subtropicais of the world, and is characterized by the deposition of dense fibrous fabric (collagen I kind) in specific areas of the heart, contributing. The Cardiovascular Rehabilitation (RC) can be evaluated like the integration of interventions, named "actions not farmacológicas", for assure the best social, psychological, and physical conditions for the patient with cardiovascular illness and is a branch of action in the cardiology that provides to the sick psychological, physical, satisfactory clinical condition and laborativa, its is of big importance in the handling of sick bearers of IC. In the RC there are two basic strategies: to that prioritizes the exercise, and to that is recognized by the acronym CCR, of "comprehensive care rehabilitation", that can be translated by comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation (RCA), in the which the exercise / physical conditioning supervised is associated to the education in health, that objective beyond the physical exercise, the removal of the nicotine addiction, to reformulação of habits you will feed and the control of the stress, which is the object this study. Does not it exist in the literature I study about his application in patients with EMF, enabling suggest itself the hypothesis of that such handling provides improvement in the maximum functional capacity to the effort and in the quality life to the patients with EMF, similar to the results found in patients with IC.
