Abstract

Breast cancer is a clinical, morphological and heterogeneous disease. Prognostic and predictive factors are needed in order to individualize treatment. Cancer cell pathways are better understood when analyzed free of adjacent benign cells, stroma or blood vessels. Laser capture microdissection can extract cancer cell from tissue while allows morphological interpretation. Reverse phase protein array is a sensible and robust method to quantify proteins in cells or tissues. Our hypothesis is to find hyperexpression of Akt, pAkt and mTOR in estrogen negative breast cancer. (AU)
