Abstract

Dermatofibrosarcoma is a rare tumor 4,2 patients per million) and because of that the advisable conduct is uncertain. In our institution we have 79 cases in our date base, this is the second casuistry in the literature. The treatment is controversial between wide margins (2 to 3 cm) and Mohs surgery. The proponents of Mohs surgery show that the traditional surgery (wide margins) is responsible for 50% recurrence. On the other hand, there are papers showing that the traditional treatment has a 10% recurrence and in certain histhological variants. We have practicing the wide margin surgery for 30 years; we plan to show that this treatment is acceptable. We are going to search histological data and tumor markers (fibrosarcomatous variant and Ki67) that shows which tumour that needs a more aggressive approach. (AU)
