Abstract
Considering the ways in that the high education are been organized end progressed in Brazil in the present stage of the capitalism development, in a context that becomes evident the strong demands for a instrumental and normative knowledge, aiming to the adjustment of the individuals to the capitalist system, as well his behavior and evaluations, to the urban production and consume exigencies, we intent to advance the analyses of the conceptions of knowledge, ways of studying and learning, as well the expectations, that college students from peripheral universities have in what concerns his formal educations, mainly those students that are belong to the first generation of long term of school experience. Our particular interest is to focus the mediations between reading and writing and knowledge in the cultural improvements of the students that belong to peripheral universities. In this way, we intent to consider the roles and forms of organization of the high education and the peripheral universities in Brazil, searching to verify the relative position that these institutions have in the university field, as well to identify the profile of the college students that are assisted by them. The value of this research becomes clear when we consider the ultimate changing in the labor structure, the intellectual exigencies and he reasons why people that until recently did not reaches this level of education are introduced in the High Education as a real perspective.
