Abstract

Nursing workload during the intraoperative period would be calculated by multiplying the number of nursing interventions or activities by the time spent on each intervention or activity. Aim: to analyze the nursing workload during the intraoperative period in surgical center. Method: it will be performed a quantitative, observational and cross-sectional study in the surgical center of a cancer hospital in Sao Paulo. All nurses who work in the surgical center will be included. The nursing interventions will be classified according to the Nursing Interventions Classification taxonomy (NIC). The data collection tool of the nursing interventions will be validated through a workshop. The information related to the nursing time spent on each intervention will be obtained by the work-sampling technique. In the present study, it will be used the observation nursing activities/interventions time of 15 minutes. Data will be stored and analyzed using electronic statistical program. Data will be discussed and analyzed considering the theoretical framework in the area of nursing workload. (AU)
