Colour anodizing process of Al to architectural employment on framework metal (Al)/wood

Abstract

Anodizing is a process where aluminum converts to oxide layer through electrolysis. The great advantage of anodizing is corrosion and abrasion resistance. It can be used to decorative appearance and engineering applications. Hard anodizing allows produce oxide layer more resistance to corrosion and abrasion, and it increases adhesion to substratum. Window of wood stay exposed to external environment. Al anodized colored can be grooved on wood. Through this framework it gets good appearance external and internal, with higher durability. This project has the aim of determine anodizing coloring conditions by direct and pulsed current on Al, to evaluate the advantages of coloring anodizing by properties of film and the economy of process. To observe the thickness, color and hardness of anodic layer by anodizing process used. Thickness and hardness will be measured to evaluate the improvement on mechanical properties of material. The color achieve at anodizing process will be evaluated according solution and Al alloy used in process. (AU)
