Abstract
This research project follows both the current trend of analyzing the history of postwar economics and my research interests since my Ph.D. I explore here how macroeconomists observe the real world in order to construct "stylized facts" that they use not only to choose the best among alternative models but also to create a sense that there is a consensus in their area.
