Abstract

In this project I follow the literature of the history of economics after World War II. It develops further my research agenda that I initiated during my PhD and consolidated in Brazil with a research fellowship from CNPq. My goal here is to analyze historical issues related to how macroeconomists observe the economy through model building and manipulating. The specific focus will be on the development of the so-called large scale macroeconometric models, with direct contributions by Lawrence Klein and Franco Modigliani, among others, and indirect contributions by Henri Theil. During my period as visiting professor I aim both to interact with renowned researchers in my area, in particular Marcel Boumans, and also to work in the archives of economists. (AU)
