Abstract

Object of Study: "Social and Affective Care Networks of Children and Adolescents, victims of violence", focusing on: family, school, shelter, Child Custody Office, Health System. Objectives: 1. To analyze the work of the network of protection to children and adolescents in Uberaba-MG based on demands met by the Child Custody Office between August 2007 and July 2010 with emphasis on the interfaces between health, social work and community resources; 2. To understand and describe the actions performed by nurses in the Primary Health Care to children and adolescents, victims of domestic violence in the West District of Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil; 3. To identify the institutional ties among state secondary schools in Alfenas, MG and Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil to cope with cases of school violence; 4. To identify and analyze the protection factors to which victimized and sheltered adolescents are submitted to and/or have access from the perspective of adolescents in Campinas, SP and Ribeirão Preto, SP. Method: a combination of methods will be used in order to obtain quantitative and qualitative information, whose analyses allow the attainment of an enlarged understanding of the studied phenomenon (Mirian Goldemberg, 2002). Data Collection Instrument: we opt for documental analysis, application of form; semi-structured interview, free and participating observation, focus group, minimum map of the Institution Social Network developed by Walter Ude (2008). Quantitative data will be recorded in a DbasellI Plus database. After database is complete, variables will be cross-tabulated using the software Epi-Info 6.0, considering absolute and relative frequencies. The method of Interpretation of Meanings was chosen to analyze qualitative data. This method deals with a "perspective of understanding lines of social sciences that analyzes: (a) words; (b) actions; (c) set of inter-relationships; (d) groups; (e) institutions; (f) conjunctures, among other analytical bodies" (Gomes, et AL., 2005, p.202).
