Abstract

There is strong evidence that poor environmental quality compromises the health, comfort and well-being of people with a variety of deleterious effects on our body. At work, at play or at home, people are usually exposed to levels of pollutants above those considered adequate for the preservation of their health. In this context, noise and suspended particulate matter contribute to the degradation of the quality of the different environments that people go during their daily activities. The aim of this study is evaluate noise and respirable particles levels in a region of São Carlos/SP, where there is heavy traffic of people and vehicles. For comparison, the study region is divided into two distinct areas, one of them with no transit of vehicles. It will also be evaluated concentrations of bioaerosols (bacteria and fungi), carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide and levels of temperature and humidity. Besides, the monitoring will be done in some indoor ambients in the areas of interest. (AU)
