Abstract
Along with advances in irrigation, there is a need for studies regarding the aspects of water quality and equipment to help in controlling the emitters clogging. However, few contributions have emerged in recent years in this sector, particularly as regards both the development equipment, as in the improvement of existing techniques. Studies with this propose are usually linked to the characterization of systems in use, and practically it don't occur changes in the way of practicing the water filtration for irrigation purposes in recent decades, consequently, the systems in use today are practically the same as those used in early development of irrigation, which occurred around the seventies. Therefore, the aim of this work was develop and evaluate a filtering system composed of filters disk, in order to improve energy efficiency and particle retention, and optimize the water consumption for cleaning the filter element, based measure of head loss. The work will be carried out in the Hydraulics Laboratory, Department of Biosystems Engineering, Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" - USP, in the Piracicaba municipally - SP. (AU)
