Abstract

This research starts from understanding that violence expressed individually is not reducible to individual factors, but it is a product of a set of determinations which includes the violence from the society of classes and the demands of adaptation to a kind of social life, that engendered from the principle of domination is contrary to the development of autonomy. It will consist in a review of the specific content about the problem defined, in an analysis of fragments of young people's life stories that have committed violent crimes or infractions, obtained through interviews with psychologists and social workers; and in an analysis of interviews with subjects who have the same characteristics. Intending itself to clarify some mediations made by the violence in the formation of these subjects as main purpose, showing forms of introjection of socially produced barbarism. Grounded in the thoughts of the Critical Theory's authors, the research will examine whether, as enunciated by these authors, the decline of parental authority and the weakening of the family's ability to mediate significantly in the formation of personality corresponds to a weak psychic development, fragile ego and super-ego outsourced, favoring the low control of destructive impulses and submission to external authority. Constituted through the direct socialization, the individuals tend to be poorly differentiated and incapable to realize and to interpret the reality objectively, which favors degraded modes of interaction, especially when it comes to situations involving the blind struggle by self-preservation and mobilize the frustrations for a mediocre existence.
