Abstract

Linked to a lifestyle and an industrial culture not far, but in profound changes in the present, working memory places would be defined as points where it crystallizes and takes refuge collective memory in the context of an acceleration of the history and awareness of change and the disruptions. Older workers' villages, housing estates, spaces of struggle of the worker in the city, factory buildings with symbolic meaning connected to everyday life and living conditions of the workers, are examples can be interpreted as working memory places in the metropolis. Our hypothecs is that these are constituted by the changing content of urbanization in the metropolis, which transform the socio-spatial practices in those areas where, before the industry was at the basis, of social life and the- main spatial reference. The working places of memory emerge in a context where the factory work and the workers become globally. They consist, therefore, the passage between two spatial logics guiding the production: the urbanization based on industry, and industrial restructuring in the metropolis, from the spatial dispersion and an economy founded on new sectors of activity. The objective of the work is to identify, map and' reflect on the formation of working memory places tò think the political meaning of his stay in the city, focusing as a place of research into the region of ABC, the first and most important industrial park surrounding the capital.
