Abstract

An innovative technology for carbohydrates production from sugarcane bagace is the objective of the project Microwave Enhancement of Sugarcane Bagace Acid Hydrolysis. Basically, it consists in an acid hydrolysis of sugarcane bagace perfonned under microwave field of 2,45 GHz. It is planned to develop a continuous bench scale microwave irradiated reactor and to establish optimal operations conditions to produce the maximum amount of carbohydrates and the minimum offurfural.
