Abstract
Ewing tumors are osseous and extraosseous neoplasias mainly found in children and teenagers. They are aggressive, usually presenting local recurrences and metastasis. The treatment response may be variable, and some patients may present favorable treatment outcome without exhibit eventual problems. Recent molecular cytogenetic studies from our group showed relevant genetic alterations at loci of genes, 1q32.1 (MDM4, PI3KC2ß, KIF14, DDX59) and 16q21 (CDH11), as important prognostic value for Ewing patient tumors. Thus, the present study aimed to validate those results evaluating the genes and proteins expression by qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. The future findings may help to recognize Ewing tumors with distinct biological behavior and treatment response. (AU)
