Abstract
The Dalbergieae sensu Klitgaard & Lavin (2005) tribe presents 49 genera and nearly 1,325 species distributed mainly on the tropical regions. Based on recently molecular studies, its circumscription was hardly altered, resulting on divergences between morphological and phylogenetically studies. In this way, the present study aims to help the taxonomic and evolutionary discussion on this tribe, with emphasis on the genus Aeschynomene L. by studying the karyotype of species from diverse vegetal formation, mainly from Rocky outcrop ("Cerrado") and Chaco Sul-matogrossense. In this study will be determined the chromosome number and elaborated the karyotype based on conventional staining, chromosome banding (CMA and DAPI) and in situ hybridization. Different cytomolecular markers will be tested, as ribosomal DNA 5S and 45S, satellite and microsatellites DNA sequences, beyond BACs from Phaseolus vulgaris L. The chromosome analysis data will be used on cytotaxonomic discussion on Aeschynomene genus, supporting the genus delimitation analysis and its evolutionary aspects. (AU)
