Abstract

The present project relates to a psychosocial study about the course of pregnancy/motherhood occurred during adolescence, comprising the third moment (L3) of the longitudinal sequence of the research, with a group with 8 twosomes of mothers and firstborns conceived during adolescence. Starting from a research (L0) realized during pregnancy period until their children were 5 months old (Oliveira, 1999), two longitudinal works were already accomplished: the first one (L1) when the children were 3.5 years old (Oliveira-Monteiro, 2008), and the second (L2) when those children were approximately 10 years old (Oliveira-Monteiro, 2010). These 3 works were granted by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP). The present work is proposing the continuity of the longitudinal sequence of the research (L3), when the firstborns from 1997, during their mothers´ adolescence, will be approximately 14 years old. Their households will be observed and autobiographical free speech interviews will be conducted (Rodrigues, 1978). Data about competence and psychological problems with mothers and children will be collected using the ASR (Adult Self-Report), CBCL (Child Behavior Check List) and YSR (Youth Self-Report), from ASEBA battery. The data obtained will be compared with preceding data from the longitudinal sequence. (AU)
