Abstract

There would be a relationship between the edenic reason and the degree of perception of racial insults? Considering the theory of recognition by Honneth and postcolonial theories, this research aims to investigate the above problem, bounded on the issues: "To what extent the edenic reason impacts in the perception of racial insults? You could say that there is a relationship between the complaint of racial insults and the increased sense of self-respect among complainants? ". Research will aim, considering a non probabilistic sample, to analyze: 1- the closed cases reported to crimes of racial insults at the Forum of Sao Paulo - Capital, between 1989 and 2011, in regressive order for detecting the presence of the edenic reason in the perception of racial insults; 2- conduct survey about the impact of the edenic reason in the perception of racial insults; 3-review and seek to understand, through the theories of recognition and postcolonial, the ways in which racial insults is lived and perceived by their victims and how this experience affects their integration into society; 4-promote the study of theories of recognition and postcolonialism; 5-identify authors of the Brazilian poscolonialism. It will be following these analytical procedures, considering a hypothetical deductive method: the study of relationships between variables and the techniques of bibliographical research, surveys and interviews. The expected results are: create a digital archive for scholars, with the results of the analysis of cases of allegations of crimes of racial insults in with the results of the survey and analysis of interviews with complainants; produce knowledge about the recognition and postcolonial theories; produce knowledge about the Brazilian postcolonial theories.
