Abstract

This project aims to perform a retrospective cohort study based on a clinical and administrative database to demonstrate the effectiveness of statins usage in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease as a form of secondary prevention from the occurrence of new events in the usual care. This project is justified by the absence of information in the brazilian healthcare system involving the monitoring of patients with DCVA treated with statins. This paper will use the anonymized databases from InCor (SI3) and HC Pharmacy System. The results of this project shall also be usefull to support the decision making process in the management of the health system and the establishment of clinical guidelines. (AU)
