Evaluation of subsidiares techniques for the blackberry cultivated in subtropical climate of the São Paulo State

Abstract

The blackberry is native to temperate regions. In Brazil, its production is concentrated mainly in the south of the country, although there are growing areas in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, in locations with micro-climate. The subtropical climate regions can be considered favorable for the cultivation of plants from temperate adapted cultivars are used, associated with the use of techniques subsidiaries that supply efficiently the chilling requirements of these plants, such as the use of growth regulators. The blackberry is presented as a culture of great potential especially for family farms, since it has high yields in small areas and may become an interesting option to diversify crops. Within this context, this study aims to ascertain the influence of different doses of plant growth regulators in dormancy, phenology and production of blackberry. And then evaluate the influence of irrigation use subject to different pruning times on carbohydrate accumulation, phenology, production and fruit quality of blackberry grown in subtropical region. Expected to find a reference dose of hydrogen cyanamide to a regulatory alternative to organic cultivation, pruning times set for anticipation or delay the harvest, in order to produce fruit outside of peak season in the region of São Manuel-SP increasing the profitability of the crop. There will also be analyzed in terms of production cost for culture and quality of fruits and characterization.The blackberry is native to temperate regions.
