Abstract

To compare the effects of different physical therapy interventions in the conservative treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). The rehabilitation will be performed by a physiotherapist with blinding of the evaluators. Methods: patients over 18 years with clinical and electromyographic diagnosis of non surgical CTS and without other comorbidities will be included. They will be randomized by a random number table and assigned to different treatment groups: home orientation guidelines and splinting for the wrist and another group with home orientation guidelines, splinting for the wrist and low-intensity laser. The assessment of patients will be made at admission and after 12 weeks of intervention through esthesiometry, manual muscle function test, grip strength with the Pinch Gauge ®, Boston Questionnaire (BCTQ)and two-point discrimination.
