Abstract

The protocol consists of a prospective study in which 20 patients studied are divided into two groups randomly. All will be evaluated by invasive electrophysiological study to assess the integrity of the conduction system and to exclude the presence of tachyarrhythmias. The group randomly selected for treatment will then be submitted to selective denervation of the sinus node and atrioventricular node. All will receive dietary and behavioral guidelines for the treatment of NMS and when deemed necessary, specific outpatient drugs are indicated to the researcher responsible for the clinical assessment of patients. The evaluation results will be reviewed by two other researchers who have access to information obtained from the patients and have the responsibility to stop the experiment if there is no benefit of the patient or in case of any adverse effects being induced by the technique of denervation.
