Abstract

Cellular processes such as differentiation and proliferation depend on the correct control of the translation of mRNAs, thus changes in the pathways that regulate translation may be an important part of the malignant cell transformation process. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is among the most aggressive tumor types and present low response rates to chemotherapeutic agents. Thus, to elucidate changes in the control of translation in GBM is of great interest to understand the biology of these tumors and facilitate the discovery of new therapies. (AU)
