Prospective study on meat sheep production: potencial market inside São Paulo State's and possible technologycal routes

Abstract

This research proposal aims central point for the sheep industry technological routes cutting São Paulo according to the characteristics of potential products identified with consumers in medium-sized cities in Sao Paulo and neighboring states, introducing issues in the context of regional specialization and territoriality. For this, it is expected the combination of methodologies used in social sciences that are applied to the sheep industry's production chain cutting, among which are: diagnosis of agribusiness chains, evaluation of marketing mix; character assessment of potential products; mapping applied, and technological forecasting. Will be conducted 45 interviews with representatives of the sheep industry cutting; merchandising evaluated 150 sheep meat products in eight medium-sized cities of the States of São Paulo, Parana and Mato Grosso do Sul, applied 3200 questionnaires to consumers of lamb, prepared thematic maps on the cutting sheep industry, and made a Structured Panel with 21 professionals involved in the activities to identify bottlenecks and propose scientific and technological routes for different cuts of the territorial state. The results obtained will serve to guide the productive sector in different regions on São Paulo State as well as the performance of public institutions of research, and especially the investments at the poles of APTA Regional.
