Abstract

This research Project aims at reconstructing the history of rural primary school in the state of Sao Paulo in the period from 1931 to 1968 having in mind the articulation between referentials, the policies from the state governments for rural primary school and the aspects of school culture. It is aimed at analysing the circulation of ideas and proposals for rural education, to integrate the political approach with the school culture perspective in order to establish a referencial for equivalent researches; to compare school culture aspects of diferent types of existent rural schools in the state in the covered period of the research - isolated schools, farm house schools, graded rural schools and tipical rural schools - and put together, organize and make available sources of research on the rural primary school.
