Abstract
The role of gut bacteria in plant resource exploitation by insect herbivores. The aim of this research visit will be: 1) Provide expertise on the production of germ free insects to be used for the study of the potential contribution of bacteria to the digestive processes of certain insect species. 2) Suggest and start to explore other enzyme classes found in gut bacteria which might provoke other more subtle effects on the life of insects.
