Abstract

The main goal of the present proposal is the development of the methodology for the production of low loss optical fibers on the base of pure and REE doped chalcogenide glasses. These are single-mode, low-mode and multi-mode optical fibers. The techniques of low loss optical fiber drawing will be further developed, improved and set in the LAMF IQ-UNESP. These fibers will be the base for making of optical amplifiers, chemical sensors, laser radiation transmission devices, for making of IR fiber radiometers for technical diagnostics and medical applications, for laser microsurgery, dentistry and cosmetic purposes.
