Abstract

We have carried out activities related to superalloys processing and applications, in association with a company of São Paulo State. In order to contribute to our targets we have invited Prof. Roger Reed from University of Birmingham for a short visit in October this year and for this we ask the financial support of FAPESP. Prof. Roger Reed is currently one of the most prestigious researchers in the field of Superalloys. The activities planned for this first visit involve: 1) Meetings about the ongoing projects involving Superalloys at EEL-USP; 2) Discussions about future collaborations, as proposed by Prof Roger Reed himself, specially about exchanging students; 3) Discussion about a proposal to be submitted to FAPESP of commom interest; 4) Talk at Departamento de Engenharia Metalúrgica e Materiais da Universidade de São Paulo (São Paulo Capital); 5) Visit to Açotécnica Company (Jandira, São Paulo), a company which produces automotive supercharger made of Ni-base superalloy by the investment casting technique; 6) A short course about Superalloys to be held at Escola de Engenharia de Lorena - USP.
