Abstract

The aim of this project is to promote the visiting of Dr. Normand St-Pierre from The Ohio State University to UNESP, Jaboticabal campus. This visit will be of great importance to the institution once this researcher presents enormous experience in statistics, meta analysis and modeling applied to animal science. Some of these issues are yet not explored and/or are incipient in the Animal Science Department of FCAV/UNESP. In this regard, with the visit of Dr. St-Pierre these issues will be extensively worked out and can be consolidated in the department. Is worth note that meta analysis, as well as, modeling are field of studies which are the state of the art of the scientific knowledge, as they allow the utilization of not just the generated data throughout the time in one determined research approach but they also allow the identification and indication of future researches. The presence of Dr. St-Pierre in the FCAV/UNESP will make possible the development of new field of studies, which are in consonance with the world's scientific advances, making evident and exalting the importance of this visit.
