Abstract

The program proposes the development of researches concentrated on unique results obtained by the Brazilian Solar Submillimeter Telescope (SST) and recent 10 micron solar observations, operated at El Leoncito, Argentina. Emphasis will be given to the study of emission processes that produce double spectral components at microwaves and in the THz range in combination with measurements in other spectral domains (gamma-rays, X-rays, EUV, optical) in order to further investigate this question by: (i) studying the relationship between sub-millimeter and high energy (> 10 MeV) gamma-rays; (ii) comparing the time evolution of the sub-millimeter emission with that of the associated chromospheric and photospheric responses seen in other spectral domains (chromospheric and photospheric lines, white light, near and mid-infrared). The research should contribute for better understanding of solar flare mechanisms producing high-energy electrons, high-energy positrons, proton beams, and emission processes as a combination of coherent and incoherent processes.
