Abstract

The experiences of Brazil, Chile and Uruguay (2000-2010), under the presidencies of Lula da Silva, Ricardo Lagos, Michelle Bachelet and Tabaré Vázquez, can be considered as examples of social democratic governments in Latin America. I am currently conducting comparative research on these new experiences, which require empirical studies and raise new theoretical problems. (AU)
