Abstract

Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) of molecules near metallic nanoparticles has been extensively studied and is a topic of great interest. Our proposal is oriented to the study of solvent effects in Raman enhancement in hybrid systems consisting of a molecule and a metal oxide dusters. We will compute both the zero-frequency and frequency-dependent polarizability of the molecule and the hybrid using a methodology developed by the São Paulo group. A comparison with models that explicit Include a preferential enhancement of Raman modes involved in charge transfer will also be made. (AU)
