Abstract

This Project is related to a grant to the visit in Lorena of the Dr. John Jacob Neumeier between July 20 to August 20, 2011. The visiting Scientist is a Professor of the Department of Physics of the Montana State University at Bozeman - MT in USA. He has collaborated with our group during the last five years. This collaboration allowed our groups to publish several important papers. Also, he has transferred to us several techniques to growth different single crystals and building high resolution thermal expansion capacitive cell using high purity quartz. In the present visit the visiting Scientist will help us to set up our thermal expansion system to get the sensitivity comparable to that installed in his laboratory. He will discuss previous results regarding anisotropic conductors as well. Furthermore, he will participate of the Advanced School on Anisotropic Conductors and Superconductors and discuss possible new project after the knowledge of the infrastructure of our Department. Finally, the visiting Scientist will visit Physics Departments of the USP in São Paulo and UNICAMP in Campinas. (AU)
