Abstract

The study of the biomechanical behavior of posterior teeth with different levels of reduction of tooth structure, using optical interferometric methods is important not only for their various specialties in dentistry, but for the whole area biomedical and basic sciences in the field of human evolution. The study of the reduction of tooth structure is a key modulator of deformation and fracture toughness of dental element. This reduction can happen in different regions of the tooth structure, and within the dental crown reducing cusp height, inside the root canal and neck.Techniques of Digital Holography and ESPI with mapping phase have been widely used. These techniques are totally non-intrusive non-destructive and allow the overall measurement, without contact, the fields of displacements with sub-micrometer resolution. The deformation of the tooth structure of each sample will be analyzed in five distinct and sequential phases, each sample will be analyzed in the rigid phase of the box without making occlusal wear sequential receive further reducing the height of the axial wall. Each phase being measured separately. The preparations will be made with a diamond tip mounted on the machine normalizing cavity preparations. (AU)
