Abstract

Professor Dr. Greta Cummings will teach in the Graduate discipline called "ERG 5837 - Administration in the Nursing Context" offered by the Fundamental Nursing Program from Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing at University of São Paulo addressing trends related to the Management of Health Services and Nursing in the Canadian context. The coming of Dr. Cummings will also greatly enrich the discussion of research projects in the area of Nursing Management. One of the activities planned will be the participation in discussions on research involving faculty members and graduate students since Dr. Cummings integrates two research projects in partnership with those responsible for teaching the Graduate discipline previously cited. Together with Professor Dr. Andrea Bernardes, who has completed the Post-Doctoral Program at the University of Alberta in 2010, Professor Dr. Greta develops the project "Hospital Management Models: Comparative Study of the Brazilian and Canadian Contexts." Also, Prof. Dr. Carmen Silvia Gabriel is working in partnership with Professor Cummings a research project entitled "Hospital Accreditation Programs: Comparative Study of the Brazilian and Canadian Contexts" that will be developed after August 2011 at the University of Alberta, in order to carry out the Post-Doctoral Program. Thus, there is much to discuss about the conduction of such research that are likely to sign the agreement established between the renowned University of São Paulo and University of Alberta, in addition to maintaining the connection between the researchers and the supervisor, Professor Cummnigs. The proposal of administration of the course dealing with the theme "Nursing Leadership" is essential in view of its importance to the strengthening of scientific studies focused on the research line "Dynamics of Organization of Health and Nursing Services" that belongs to the Fundamental Nursing Program which the professors responsible for the Graduate discipline are part.
