Abstract

First, it is noteworthy that the dialogue with Prof. Jean-Pierre Faguer began during my doctoral training between 2003 and 2004, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, which was funded by CAPES, and has extended over the years virtually or personally, opportunities that could return to France. In my last stay in Paris, funded under my current research project (FAPESP process 2009/11542-3), I could discuss with Jean-Pierre Faguer my current research as well as the theoretical assumptions of Pierre Bourdieu's sociological legacy that could assist in analysis of survey data. It was during this discussion that the idea of the coming of Professor. Jean-Pierre Faguer to Brazil to have us continue this work, deepening the theoretical debate, especially when it comes to understanding the effects of lengthening the school policy on militancy and biographic rupture processes between members of the working classes, with advantage that could come with her, through the organization of different activities, to extend the debate to other researchers and graduate students and graduate Brazilians. Thus, the participation of Professor. Jean-Pierre Faguer, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, mainly in Brazil will be divided between two units of the University of São Paulo (EACH and FE), and are provided two outstanding participation in National Scientific Meetings: ANPED (Association national Research in Education) and ANPOCS (national Association for Research in Social Sciences).
