Abstract

The Pólo da Alta Sorocabana laboratory, Presidente Prudente, SP, Brazil, performs the laboratory diagnosis of rabies since 1995, the year he was licensed to do so by the Ministry of Health. From that year to date, has isolated the rabies virus in several species non-hematophagous bats. Therefore, it is necessary, a further study of the fauna of bats submitted for laboratory diagnosis to establish the relationship with the spread of rabies virus, thus preventing the spread of human and animal population.
