Abstract

Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) has Portland cement (PC) in its basic composition. Zirconium oxide (ZrO) has been associated with the PC to provide radiopacity, placing bismuth oxide; and the addition of nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA) getting the biological and antimicrobial properties facilitated. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the physical, chemical, mechanical and antimicrobial properties of MTA and associations of PC bring on different concentrations of n-HA and ZrO divided into the following groups: G1 - White MTA (Angelus, Brazil); G2 - PC + ZrO 30%; G3 - PC 60% + n-HA 10% + ZrO 30%; G4 - PC 50% + n-HA 20% + Zr 30%. To the pH test, the samples will be immersed in water and the measurements will be performed by Digimed pH meter as well. Regarding the solubility test, will be analysed the material's mass loss percentage after the material immersion in deionized water. The setting time test is carried out by pattern Gilmore needle. For compression resistance test, samples will be tested with a mechanical test machine. The antimicrobial properties will be realized by the direct contact test over plantonic cell and Enterococcus faecalis biofilm. Bacterial suspension evaluation will be performed by measurement on spectrophotometry and the biofilm test by CFU / ml. Data will be submitted to ANOVA and Tukey's test, with significance level of 5% or the second test indicated the data obtained. (AU)
