Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the effect of bleaching on the fluorescence of the inorganic components of enamel and dentin and organic component of dentin, separately. And also to evaluate the effect of bleaching on the fluorescence of bovine enamel and dentin and its correlation with the change in color of dental tissues.Material and Methods: Two hundred bovine incisors will be used, from which 120 dentin discs with 6mm of diameter and 1mm thick will be obtained, and 80 enamel discs of the same size. Forty specimens of enamel and dentin will be deproteinated and forty dentin specimens will be demineralized. In the remaining samples will be assessed the color and fluorescence. In specimens deproteinated and demineralized specimens only will be measured the fluorescence. After measurement of initial color and fluorescence, half of the specimens will be immersed in 35%Hydrogen Peroxide solution for 1 hour (experimental groups) and the remaining specimens will be immersed in water. After, the specimens will be washed in running water for 1 minute. After 7 days another immersion in hydrogen peroxide will be performed on the experimental groups. The color and fluorescence measurements will be performed after the first and second immersion as well after storage for 1 year (AU)
