The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of waiting time to began the dental bleaching in the roughness, hardness, fluorescence and morphological changes of enamel submitted to enamel microabrasion. The project will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba - UNESP. It will be employed in this study 60 healthy bovine incisors made into chips / chunks of enamel / dentin of the mesial and distal surfaces with 5x5x2 mm in size. All specimens will be submitted to enamel to enamel microabrasive Opalustre (Ultradent Products Inc., UT, USA) according to manufacturer's specifications. The factors in study will be: a procedure in three levels, microabrasion (Opalustre - Ultradent Products Inc. Utah, USA), dental bleaching (40% Opalescence Boost - Ultradent Prodcuts Inc. Utah, USA) and the association of the two procedures; as well as the time in 2 levels, assessed immediately and 15 days storage in artificial saliva. The response variables will be the roughness analysis, the Knoop hardness, as well as the fluorescence of the blocks teeth; influenced or not by the waiting time. Dental bleaching will be performed with hydrogen peroxide at 40% Opalescence Boost PF 40% (Ultradent Products Inc., UT, USA). The results of the assessments proposed in analysis times considered are compared by applying appropriate statistical tests at 5%.
