Abstract

The main purpose is to study J. Le Breton's intellectual path, from his activities in the Décade Philosophique, until his role in the Institut de France, where he wrote a series of eulogies and other texts on the arts. Finally, I will analyse the manuscript plan for the creation of a school of arts in Brazil, in its two versions, and relate it to the ideals and tastes disseminated by the Institut de France. (AU)
