Abstract

The Boy Scout movement in Brazil, despite its long existence and even the hole that has exercised as informal education movement, has no study indicating the ways in which the movement has been inserted in the training of thousands of children and young people who were at some point in their lives, involved in Boy Scout groups. The proposed activities follow a pedagogical design based on the development of skills and abilities, and many outdoor activities involve observing and understanding the Earth's dynamic processes, based on the contents of the Geosciences. The project aims to assess the documentary (books, manuals, etc.) which, from the Union of Scouts of Brazil-UEB, guides the hundreds of Scout groups (GE) in all the country; evaluate next to Scouters members in different age groups, elements that demonstrate the effectiveness of the educational proposals of the movement; identified in the regional events, national and global actions involving geoscience content, will be some of the objectives to be pursued, through qualitative research methodologies.
