Improve network infrastructure at CNPEM for ANSP network connectivity

Abstract

This project involves the modernization and expansion of network infrastructure installed at CNPEM (Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Energia e Materials), which regard to its integration with the ANSP (Academic Network at São Paulo) network to meet the new researchers needs who make use of CNPEM facilities as the experimental stations of synchrotron light source, electronic microscopy and bioscience laboratories. The network connection between CNPEM and ANSP, requires new investments in its infrastructure security and performance due to new demands. To enable the modernization of computer services and network infrastructure, CNPEM plans to do the replacement of firewall equipment responsible for network connectivity with ANSP. This equipment are important for providing the security required for the researches conducted on the CNPEM facilities and to provide easier access to services available to partners like CLS (Canadian Ligth Source, Synchrotron labs), ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility), USP, UNICAMP and others.
