Plan for using the institutional technical reserve for 2011- UNESP Campus Experimental do Litoral Paulista

Abstract

The Campus Experimental do Litoral Paulista (CLP) became a University Campus of UNESP in 2001, when Teaching, Research and Extension in Marine Biology and Coastal Management started. Eighteen researchers currently work in this campus, most of them with research projects sponsored by financial agencies, as FAPESP, CNPq, FINEP and others. Although the campus is completing 10 years age, its general infra-structure for scientific research is still incipient and is being implemented or developed, needing equipment for its effective consolidation. The especifity of research lines in Marine Sciences, potentialized by the capacitation of its staff, makes the UNESP-CLP an emergent center for research on the Coast of São Paulo. Besides, there must be highlighted the importance of such center, considering the demands coming from the exploration of oil and gas at Santos Basin, the port and industrial expansion along the coast, the increasing occupation and tourism, the sanitation programs, the state and federal plans for coastal management and the establishment of new coastal and marine protected areas.
