Abstract

In the last two years, several changes have occurred in the infrastructure of the Arquivo Público do Estado de São Paulo, such as the opening of a new headquarters and the expansion of the number of staff employed by tender procedure. In this context, the actions carried out under the Project sponsored by FAPESP's Infrastructure 6 Program were of essential importance for the technological modernization of the institution. In order to continue the improvements obtained through previous project, this Annual Plan aims to increase custody, restoration and packaging conditions of records. In the pursuit of these objectives, it is foreseen the acquisition and installation of: a dehumidification system of iconographic collection store rooms; a system for monitoring environmental conditions in deposits of textual records, distributed over five floors of the new building; technical equipment for restoration laboratory and packaging manufacture equipment for storing records properly. The planned actions represent a significant increase in the activities of documentary preservation and conservation, and enable the availability for researching the huge collection of records and documents the Arquivo Público do Estado has in its custody.
