Abstract

The growth of floriculture in Brazil has created a demand for new products to cater to consumers interested in new developments within this agribusiness. The cultivation of new potted ornamental species would be a promising option to insert new products at the floriculture. Therefore, the objective of this project will evaluate the development of in vitro propagated seedlings of two species of heliconia, under the effect of different light sources during the in vitro and in protected cultivation. The explants during the subcultures will be assessed in LED lighting system in the following combinations: T1: 100% red, T2: 100% blue, T3: 70% + 30% blue red, T4: 70% red + 30% blue CT and control by white fluorescent lamp. The seedlings will be transferred and kept in a greenhouse environment protected with different meshes on the type of transmitted light, arranged in sequence in red (M1), black (M2) and blue (M3), a rate of 30% shading. Each treatment will be evaluated in different LED colors of meshes, totaling 15 treatments. The seedlings will be transferred to the pot 17 until the end of the test (anthesis). The total number of vessels 360 will be evaluated for each species, totaling 720 vessels. The results of height, leaf area and climate data will be obtained and the average percentage of variables measured in the experiments will be subjected to analysis of variance by F test, and will be significant when compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability.
