Abstract

The researchers intend to study in three homogeneous groups of baby pigs, with the number of 10 pigs in each group underwent standardized general anesthesia protocol: quantitative and qualitative evaluation of intracerebral and epidural intracranial pressure, and to correlate changes in temperature and PtiO2 brain in a model of refractory intracranial hypertension produced by infusion of saline-filled latex balloon in the right cerebral hemisphere. The physiological parameters to be analyzed are parenchymal and epidural ICP, PtiO2, brain temperature, PPC, ORX correlated with systemic changes as mean arterial pressure, arterial blood gases, glucose and lactate. All groups will be undergoing medical (hypertonic saline) and surgical treatment (deflation of the balloon). (AU)
