Abstract

The visit of Prof. Dr. Makis Solomos, is part of an extensive exchange project between the department of music of the Instituto de Artes (IA) of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), the Interdisciplinary Nucleus of Sound Communication (NICS) of the same University and the University of Paris VIII, Nanterre, France. As part of this project researchers from UNICAMP have participated in courses at Paris VIII. Now, we look at having Prof. Dr. Makis Solomos visit us in order to develop our research team's knowledge in the topic of Sound Ecology and of its interactions with musical creation. This combines with the presence of Dr. Schaub (IRCAM/NICS) who is presently working on a post-doctorate with UNICAMP (FAPESP), and with joint research projects with IRCAM in Paris with which a collaboration convention has already been agreed that gives researches at UNICAMP free access to the software’s developed by the french institute.
