Abstract

Premature infants are at risk for developmental disorders, and their early identification allows the adoption of intervention measures. The identification of these infants (RN) can be realized through knowledge of perinatal risk factors, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head and neurobehavioral assessment. There are few studies that evaluate the association between findings on MRI and neurobehavioral changes in preterm (PT). In this context, we developed this project that aims to assess the neurodevelopment of preterm infants and verify its association with brain changes. Objective: To evaluate prospectively the neurobehavior of preterm infants with gestational age less (IG) to 32 weeks until the post-conceptual age (IPC) term. Compare the neurobehavior of preterm infants at term with CPI of term infants. Check the association between brain changes with neurobehavioral responses in preterm infants at 40 weeks IPC. Methods: An observational, prospective, unicenter to be conducted in the Neonatal Pediatrics, Federal University of São Paulo. Will be included preterm infants with gestational ages below 32 weeks and in each case, shall constitute a control, with full-term infants, paired by sex. Be obtained sociodemographic and clinical data regarding maternal and clinical RN. Neurobehavioral assessment will be done through the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Network Neurobehavior Scale RN and PT will undergo MRI of the brain, the CPI 40 weeks. (AU)
